Double win at Solent Business Awards

SB Joinery is delighted to have been presented with three awards at the Solent Business Awards taking home ‘Best Company to Work for’ ‘Management Team of the Year Award’ and a 2nd place in ‘SME of the Year’.

SBA, now in its third year, has quickly become established as the premier multi-category awards scheme covering the entire South Coast and Solent (see map below). #SolentBA is open to businesses throughout the region.

David Murray, publisher of The Business Magazine, said: “These awards are aimed very much at the ‘top-end‘; they are prestigious trophies that attract entries from the very best companies. Our focus is to have a quality annual competition – and we are delighted that we have such strong support from our sponsors.”

We were mentioned by the Business Magazine as not only ”needing a bigger trophy cabinet’ but were also been recognised for our continual investment ‘the care taken in the craftsmanship of its quality timber products for customers is obviously matched internally through a focus on investment in its company culture, people and technology’.

Hampshire: Joinery manufacturer wins two awards at 2017 Solent Business Awards

Winner – The Best Company to Work For Award
This following gives an idea of some of the ways SB Joinery may have been considered a winner; through creative working styles, innovative working environments, wide-ranging staff facilities, an open, inclusive work culture and strong environmental policies.

Winner – Management Team of the Year Award
Judges looked for a management team that could demonstrate a clear and consistent track record of strong leadership, drive and adaptability together with the ability to think and plan ahead. The judges also looked for a team that has driven the business forward, implemented significant change or overcome material problems through strong leadership and teamwork. Other criteria included the management team’s vision and its ability to guide the business through challenging economic conditions.

2nd Place – SME Business of the Year Award
The SME sector is widely acknowledged as a key driver of the UK economy, and the Solent business community are asked to get involved with this award so as to have their contribution and successes acknowledged and recognised. The sponsored award recognises the significant impact that SME businesses have across the region, and welcome entries from businesses that have a base in the Solent, are at least two years old and have an annual turnover up to £10 million.

Darrell Brown, Director mentioned that ‘the success of our two Solent Award wins has been great for raising the profile of the business locally, it is a great achievement for us as a company’.

We take this moment to once again thank all our staff, attendees, presenters, fellow finalists and anyone else who was involved in the process.
